WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY THOMAS PROSSER
FEBRUARY 26TH-APRIL 3RD
FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS AT 8PM, SUNDAYS AT 2PM
Brothel takes place in the Mockingbird’s parlor, a house of prostitution owned by Madame Tremaine. The year is 1929 at the height of prohibition and eve of the stock market crash. Few characters in the Brothel use their real names as all live lives they’d someday hope to forget. The fix is in and the good guys are worse than the bad guys. There is Grace Lackey, the Christian prostitute in love with Kid Twist; a pimp she hopes to save. Duchess, a Vassar college grad who loves opium and any guy in pants. Fanny Sweet, veteran hooker with a heart of gold. Rumrunner Windy Finn in love with Madam Tremaine. They and many others all yearn for a better life. The big question is who breaks free.
The cast includes Terry Finn, Michael Doughty, Mark Del Castillo, Genia Michaela, Rick Barreras, Scott Pretty, Philip Sokoloff, Dennis Delsing, Nora Yessayan, Michelle Danyn, Brittney Levine, Lindsey Waguespack, Genia Michaela, and Thomas Prosser who also directs.
Consumer Advisory: This show has recorded gunshots, and adult content.
THE REVIEWS ARE IN:
Brothel is a play about an era I have never before seen adapted to stage, and it’s a treat to witness it so fully realized and with such great talent.
