Grace & Glorie is a sweet, funny and touching story of an unlikely friendship between two strong-minded women from different generations and different cultural backgrounds. Grace Stiles is an illiterate, but savvy countrywoman who has reluctantly sold her family homestead in the Blue Ridge Mountains to a big city developer. Gloria Whitmore is a younger, Harvard-educated hospice volunteer assigned to help care for the elderly woman after her release from the hospital. The women's drastically different ideas on everything from food to faith lead to a series of comic battles, but the pair eventually forge a strong bond as they confide their personal stories of love and loss.

This production of
Grace & Glorie is supported, in part, by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.   Free performances are being offered at senior centers throughout the city this fall, prior to the show's opening at the Eclectic in January 2004.
